Harel was born in Northeast Oklahoma and grew up in Southeast Kansas as a preacher's kid in a small town fundamentalist church. As a young adult he studied for and planned to become a minister in the same church. However, over time he started questioning his faith which led to him leaving the church and seeking community elsewhere. Harel currently lives and works in Wichita as a software developer. Outside of work he enjoys video games, roller coasters, and sightseeing, especially museums and historical sites.
