AI gets a lot of hype or hate depending on who you talk to. Its impacts on society, the economy, and the environment are irrefutable. With an on-the-ground engineering perspective, Quinn will cover what is hype, what is real, and how to best prepare for an AI world. Covering ways to use AI more effectively for those interested in increasing their skills, and legislative suggestions for those who wish to curtail AI and its impacts, this talk will cover a broad spectrum of this emerging industry.
Speaker Bio: With 15 years of industry experience in systems engineering, I work with biotech firms who focus on detecting and curing cancers. I utilize AI regularly for engineering purposes and have led work groups on the use of AI in a regulated environment. I ran the successful "DeFlock Lynnwood" campaign to remove Flock's AI surveillance cameras from Lynnwood Washington. I acknowledge the positives and negatives that come with the AI world we now live in.
Wichita Oasis is a non-religious community for people to come together to connect, be inspired, and feel empowered. We meet weekly on Sunday mornings and programming may include featured speakers, live local musicians, potlucks, service projects, game days, and more. The program starts at 11:00 AM, and people are encouraged to come half an hour earlier for coffee, snacks, and conversation.
Kid's Room. Two experienced and background-checked adults are ready to help make your child's experience at Wichita Oasis as fun and engaging as the main program.
Extension Room. For older kids and adults who don't require supervision but are not interested in the main program, the Extension Room offers a separate space to connect, play, create, and explore. Two background-checked adults will be there hanging out, so you'll never be alone. Feel free to bring a game, craft, book, or other activity to enjoy by yourself or with others.
