Out with the old, in with the... also old?
In one of our October gatherings, we learned about the detrimental impact of fast fashion. Constantly purchasing new, cheaply made clothing has had a deep, damaging impact on the environment. In our efforts to solve human problems with human hands and make more sustainable choices, Oasis is hosting a clothing swap.
Clean out your closet and bring those gently used, freshly laundered clothes this Sunday. We will have tables set up for you to set your donated items and to peruse the rest of the clothes everyone else has brought. Take what you need and leave what you don't. Limited dressing rooms will be available. For sanitary reasons do not bring undergarments and leave all undergarments on while trying on clothing. Any clothing left at the end of the swap will be donated to McKinney-Vento or other charity as needed.
Wichita Oasis is a secular community that meets weekly on Sunday mornings to enjoy fascinating talks, live music, and conversation.
The program starts at 11:00 AM, and people are encouraged to come half an hour earlier for coffee, snacks, and conversation. If it's your first time visiting, make sure to stop by our welcome table in the back of the room to say hello and learn more about Oasis. Parents can drop off their young ones with our team in the kids room, where they will meet new friends and enjoy fun activities together.
Please note that masks will be required inside the building regardless of vaccination status.
